Further exploration success in Kenya helped offset concerns over faltering production rates in fields off Ghana for Tullow Oil.

The FTSE 100 oil explorer said on Wednesday that two further oil discoveries in northern Kenya, where appraisal work was interrupted in November by local protests, had prompted it to nearly double its estimate of discovered resources in the South Lokichar Basin to more than 600m barrels of oil.
