Dublin has pulled the sale of the retail arm of Ireland’s state gas company, Bord Gáis Eireann, saying the price offered by several international bidders was not high enough.
The sale, which was expected to fetch up to €1.4bn, is the centrepiece of a plan agreed between Dublin and its international lenders to sell €3bn in state assets to help pay down its ballooning debts.
